At North Shore Painting we use a 2-pack (2K) lacquer for kitchen cabinet painting in our factory. This offers durability and a high-quality finish. Here’s an overview of the process involved:
- Preparation: Cabinets are carefully inspected, and any necessary repairs are made. This includes cleaning and sanding the surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of the lacquer.
- Priming (if necessary): Depending on the cabinet material and the desired finish, a primer may be applied. This step helps to create a uniform base for the lacquer.
- Mixing the 2-Pack Lacquer: 2-pack lacquer consists of two components—resin and hardener. These are mixed together just before application to activate the chemical curing process.
- Spraying: The mixed lacquer is applied using high-quality spray equipment. This method allows for an even application and a smooth finish, minimizing imperfections such as drips or brush marks.
- Multiple Coats: Multiple coats of lacquer are applied to achieve the desired depth of color and finish. Each coat is allowed to dry before the next is applied.
- Curing: After the final coat is applied, the lacquer must cure properly. This process can vary in time depending on environmental conditions, but 2-pack lacquer generally cures hard, providing a durable finish that is resistant to scratches, chemicals, and moisture.
- Quality Control: The finished cabinets undergo a quality check to ensure that the finish meets the required standards. This includes inspecting for consistency, gloss level, and overall appearance.
- Packaging and Delivery: Once approved, the cabinets are carefully packaged for delivery to ensure they arrive in perfect condition for installation.
Choosing 2-pack lacquer for kitchen cabinet and doors provides a long-lasting finish (far superior to waterbased enamels) that can withstand the rigors of daily use. We can provide a number of sheen options including high gloss. semi gloss and matt finishes.
